BEAT THE RA!

The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition has run for over 250 years and gives any artist an opportunity to display their work among some of the countries greatest.  The chances of being selected are slim - around 400 places are available from around 16,500 entries, but those that are selected generally go on to sell at higher-than-normal prices.

2024

My two entries for this year take on a slightly different form to make them more desirable by a wider audience.

Rather than printing them on aluminium panels at great expense, these prints are on semi-gloss giclee paper which allows me to offer them at a more reasonable price.

Limited to an edition of 100 copies, of which 90 are allocated to the RA, so 10 copies are available to purchase now in the shop before anyone else.

2023

Brutal Idyll was shortlisted for the 2023 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.  Whilst not being one of the few hundred to be finally selected for the exhibition itself, the shortlist of around 4,000 pictures was compiled from the original 16,500 entries, so still an achievement for which I am very proud.

Needless to say, number 1 in the edition that was allocated to the RA found a new home as soon as I got it back, along with other numbers which have sold since.

So far, all copies sold have been bought framed in the stone effect floating frame for which only a few more are available.

See the shop for more details.

2019

'Room With A View V' was accepted into the 2019 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and was displayed in the main gallery, curated by Jock McFadyen.

It was presented as a one-of-one at 75x50cm on an aluminium composite panel, and sold on one of the private events prior to the exhibition opening to the public.

With the permission of the buyer, a second series was produced in the same format but at 60x40cm and an edition of 25 copies, of which a few remain for sale.
